If you seem to get stuck on Congress and have not ventured beyond the popular borders of downtown then you don’t know Reilly’s. This is a Craft Pizza and drink spot with a hidden secret. Located on Pennington near Scott, this former mortuary is a great open space with fantastic architecture and an amazing craft cocktail bar. They are casual Italian, featuring popular dishes and craft pizzas. If you venture past the bar you can relax in the walled outdoor patio. Venture farther and you will find the beer garden. Enjoy a selection of 40 rotating, on tap, beers with seating indoors and out. Hang out with friends or make new ones.
Tough Luck Club
If you are brave enough, you may venture down to the basement from the beer garden and find yourself in a low beamed, dimly lit, bar space where you may have the best cocktail of your life. You have found the Tough Luck Club. This is where they used to embalm the bodies of the deceased (insert evil laugh here). This is a very popular late night space and a great spot for people watching and hanging with friends.
Reilly Craft Pizza and Drink could be considered one of Tucson’s unique hole-in-the-wall kind of places. Off the beaten path, but still right downtown you’ll know you’ve made it when you see an entire wall of artificial grass. Tucked away on Scott, in between Congress and Pennington there are two distinct venues in one, to enjoy and discover.
Since, after all, this is a craft bar, make sure you order some kind of fancy cocktail because the bartenders have a lot of unique ingredients at their disposal. From tinctures to herbal essences, there is a lot here to match your mood. It really adds to that fancy feeling and make you feel downright spoiled.
