Tucson Roller Derby is an all-girl flat-track roller derby league that sprang to life in 2003. If you decide to go, I suggest visiting their website and giving yourself a brief tutorial of the rules. However, I’m sure any fan at the venue would be more than happy to give you a quick rundown. The athletes in The Tucson Roller Derby will amaze you with their speed on the skates and ferocity of hits!
Tickets can be purchased for $15 the day of or $10 in advance with a discount for military ($8), children 10-17 ($5), and children 9 and under are free. Tucson Roller Derby bouts are one to two times per month throughout the year. Bouts are at the Tucson Indoor Sports Center (formerly Blade World) at the intersection of Grant and I-10. This is not your normal Tucson sporting event. The action is gut-twisting, the announcing and music are entertaining, and the intensity of the athletes is red hot!
