Tucson Raceway Park
Tucson Raceway Park’s famous slogan of “We’ll sell you the whole seat, but you’ll only need the edge” tells you exactly what to expect when visiting the raceway. If you want entertainment, you’ve found it.
Wikipedia says, “Tucson Raceway Park currently hosts races in the ASA racing series: Super Late Models, DriveTech Late Models, Street Stocks, Factory Stocks and Pro-4’s as well as Hornets and Legends”. Now, we’re not sure what all that means, but we are sure that it’s a fun place to go, especially with the kids. The last time Tony Ray went, he got to walk around and meet some of the drivers, look at their vehicles and have a fun time sitting at the raceway watching the races.
Races are almost always held on Saturday night, with practice sessions held on Friday. Thanks to the warm climate in Tucson, the track is able to remain open from February to November, only closing on weekends when there is a Sprint Cup race at Phoenix. Admission is $10.00 for adults (ages 12 and up) and kids 11 and under are FREE! Seniors and Active Military (with their military i.d.) are $8.00. Some events cost more, so our advice is to check the website or give a call before you head out.
You can find Tucson Raceway Park just a few minutes from Tucson, off Harrison Road. Take I-10 east to Houghton Road (Exit 275), turn right. Keep heading South until you get to East Dawn Road. Turn Right on Dawn. Continue onto South Harrison Road until you see Tucson Raceway Park on the left. It is located at 11955 South Harrison Rd.
It’s an experience you wont want to miss as one of the things to do in Tucson!
