Tucson Greek Festival
The Tucson Greek Festival will celebrate its 37th year in 2012. The festival is a celebration of all things Greek in Tucson. There is live music, dancing, and lots of Greek food.
The festival has lots to see and experience including cooking demonstrations, arts and crafts vendors, presentations by leaders in the Greek community and authors, there are exhibits, and even Greek dancing lessons! Opa!
We know you can hear the Greek music in your head as you read this! Go, check it out. And when you learn how to dance like the Greeks, post it on YouTube and we promise to give it a look-see!
Finding the Tucson Greek Festival
The Tucson Greek Festival is located on Fort Lowell Road, near Mountain Avenue in Tucson on the north side of the street. It generally runs from Thursday through Sunday in the last part of September. Parking can be an issue on the weekend, so they encourage you to park at a designated shuttle area and take a shuttle to the entrance of the festival (check out the Tucson Greek Festival website for details).
Admission prices are $3.00 for ages 13 and up, kids 12 and under are free. If you are interested in attending, check their website for discounted tickets or free admission tickets.
We have found them on The Tucson Greek Festival website from time to time, so it never hurts to look! If you can’t find any, take a can of food with you for the food bank and your $3, because we think this is still a great deal for a family-friendly event. Enjoy some food, drink, and dancing with some of the most fun people we have met! Opa! Wait, I think we already said that….
