Tucson Festival of Books
Every year local authors and librophiles gather together at the University of Arizona campus in the spring to celebrate the Tucson Festival of Books. The entire campus sprouts white tents, creating a buzzing energy for what is to come.
The Tucson Festival of Books hosts thousands of authors, publishers, poets, and spectators from all over the country! Admission is free, so the Tucson Festival of Books is a great excursion for the whole family.
The Festival strives to promote literacy throughout Southern Arizona, so supporting this event is a wonderful cause. Last year, this event raised $150,000 for local literacy charities (bringing the total amount of donations in this event’s three-year history to over $500,000)!
Authors from every genre come to this event, guaranteeing something exciting for everyone. Visiting the Tucson Festival of Books can also be a great exercise as you stroll about campus to see all of the displays. If you need a break, settle into one of the auditoriums to see a poetry reading. You can also talk from one of your favorite authors. Also don’t miss all of the delicious food available from Beyond Bread, Choice Greens, Brushfire BBQ, and many more!
If you are a writer looking to be published, the Tucson Festival of Books is a great place to go to gain inspiration, network with other local authors, and even talk to publishers that may be interested in your work! This event showcases Tucson’s strong sense of community values and local talent.
