Tucson has a brand new chalk art festival this year, at Park Place Mall. The Park Place Chalk Art Festival has arrived! Prepare to have your mind blown when you visit this unique event! Local artists, as well as artists from around the country, students, teachers, and all walks of Tucson citizens, come to transform the Park Place Mall sidewalk into a masterpiece with chalk.

Previously, downtown Tucson hosted a chalk art festival, but this year it has turned into the Park Place Chalk Art Festival. The festival includes a contest according to a specific theme. Be sure to bring the kiddos to this event so they can play in the Kidzone, which will include lessons from professional artists for children under the age of twelve.

The images created during this event are spectacular! The artists create incredibly detailed, three-dimensional pieces with just plain old chalk! The idea for the Park Place Chalk Art Festival is based on the tradition of street painting hundreds of years ago in Italy.

During the Park Place Chalk Art Festival, you can enjoy tons of live music and entertainment (even acrobats and jugglers!) from many different cultures.
