As Summer winds down and Fall kicks into gear, we are treated with authentic events. This specific event, that we will talk about is called Octoberfest. It is located in Ski Valley and can be found at the top of beautiful Mount Lemmon. It’s another one of my Favorite Fun Things to Do in Tucson, so let me tell you all about it!
What Makes Mount Lemmon Octoberfest So Much Fun?
This isn’t your parent’s Octoberfest. You won’t be going to an empty ballpark, finding a spot in a beer garden, and sipping on Michelob or Coors. Octoberfest on Mount Lemmon is an authentic affair. It comes complete with long tables covered in traditional German dishes. Also, the Chicken Dance will most definitely be heard playing in the background. It’s the closest you can get to Germany without a plane ticket!
Why Should I Go to Mount Lemmon Octoberfest?
Go to Octoberfest on Mount Lemmon if you want to cool off from the Tucson Metro heat and have a wonderful time with your friends or family. It really is a Day Trip to Cool Heaven!
What Will I Do at Mount Lemmon Octoberfest?
You will enjoy a delicious bratwurst plate (other dishes are available, but why mess with perfection) on your blanket as you watch bands and entertainers perform on the main stage. The whole time, the ski lift will be humming overhead, offering patrons a birds-eye-view of Tucson from up in the trees. You will sip on your huge beer stein and relax to a lazy, lovely day.
PRO TIP: Park your blanket a little bit away from the crowd. Darren and I sat a little ways from the main stage so we could enjoy some time together. Midway through our meal, Darren noticed a deer just on the edge of the line of trees. We sat in awe as a beautiful doe nibbled on the lush vegetation, even passing within a few feet before disappearing into the forest. It was an experience we will never forget!
See You On The Mountain!
You are gonna love Oktoberfest on Mount Lemmon. It is the perfect mix of a traditional German Octoberfest, without actually going to Germany. An entire afternoon can fly by without you even noticing, then you can drive home watching the Tucson Lights from the mountain. Nothing could be better!
Have a great day,
TonyRay 🙂
