Reid Park
Welcome to Southern Arizona’s flagship park also known as The Central Park of Tucson. Located right in the middle of great Tucson, Reid Park is a massive 131 acre recreation destination
Featuring too many amenities to list, Reid Park is also home to the DeMeester Outdoor Performance Center, the Reid Park Zoo, Hi Corbett Field, Randolph and Dell Urich municipal golf courses, the Reid Park Rose Garden, and the Randolph Tennis Center. Allow me to tell you a little info on each.
The DeMeester Outdoor Performance Center
The DeMeester Outdoor Performance Center is the go-to for local art displays. These art displays include: Tucson Pops Orchestra recitals, Summer Shakespeare performances, and many get-togethers in Tucson. The DeMeeser Outdoor Performance Center is available for rent for a wide variety of events and can comfortably fit up to 7,000 people.
The Rose Garden
Often cited as the most desirable wedding spot in Tucson, the Rose Garden is truly a delight for the senses. The city of Tucson does a great job keeping the grounds very clean. The entire ambiance of the garden provides a comforting feeling of calmness. You can’t help but lose yourself in the Reid Park Rose Garden.
The Zoo
The Reid Park Zoo is one of the most popular venues in all of Tucson. With hundreds of exotic species from around the world all placed in their own habitats, you really get a taste of the world. The Reid Park Zoo can even be rented for special events and offers group discounts!
Hi Corbett Field
The current home of the University of Arizona Wildcats baseball team, is a beautifully renovated stadium with room for 9,500 fans. Located on the grounds of Reid Park, Hi Corbett Field offers a premier baseball stadium with full amenities all within a simple drive from anywhere in Tucson.
Randolph Tennis Center
Last of Reid Park’s amenities, but definitely not least, is the Randolph Tennis Center. The Randolph Tennis Center is the premier location for tennis enthusiasts. I say this because it contains 25 well-maintained tennis courts. Along with the yearly ProAm Tournaments, the center hosts adults, singles, juniors, and even doubles tournaments.
My Favorite
My favorite part of the Reid Park juggernaut is the The Randolph and Dell Ulrich municipal golf courses. With a full 18 holes and driving ranges, you can really perfect your craft on these cost-effective greens. Then, add the fact that Tucson has perfect golfing whether for 11 out of 12 months, and you gain an unique opportunity to play the game you love in a wonderful location year-round. All without breaking the bank!
I hope that this helps you in deciding what your plans for the weekend are going to be! Have fun and stay safe!
Have a great day,
Tony Ray 🙂
