Bearizona
We happened upon Bearizona Drive-through Wildlife Park in Williams AZ. We rented a great cabin in Flagstaff Arizona for the weekend. After that, we decided to go to Williams to see the Route 66 town for some lunch and shopping. We were driving back from Williams, about 30 min from Flagstaff when we saw the signs for Bearizona.
The next morning, we headed back to see what Bearizona was all about. What a great find!
We arrived at the entrance to the drive-through portion of the park. We were greeted by very friendly staff who gave us the “lay of the land”. They gave us a talking guide, GPS tracking device to carry in the car and sent us through the giant gates into the wildlife park.
It was great to see the animals roaming around in a natural environment. The animals were easy to spot and there were plenty of pull out areas along the designated roadway to stop and enjoy.
As we left the drive-through portion, another staff member was there to explain the next exhibit, which is the walk-thru “zoo” like area. We gave her our GPS device and proceeded to park the car.
The walk-through area of Bearizona was beautiful.
The animals were having so much fun and easy to photograph or video (see photos below). Note: Be prepared to stay awhile, there is plenty to see and do. You’ll want to get the birds of prey show schedule so you can experience the high country raptors flying over your head.
Before and after the birds of prey show, we went to all of the animal exhibits, watched them play and took photos. After that, we stopped at the gift shop and bought some goodies. It was a great experience.
Things you should know about Bearizona: They do have restrooms, they do have water and snacks, they do not allow pets (makes sense) in the walk-thru area (we left our dog, Keeley, back at the cabin lounging on the sofa). Visitors Info
Have a great day,
