4th Avenue
Hanging out on 4th Avenue, in Tucson, is one of my favorite places to eat, hang out and enjoy the weather. Historically, 4th Avenue has been the Bohemian center of Tucson. You can find many venues for entertainment, shopping, dining and more.
The 4th Avenue district connects Broadway downtown to University Avenue to the north. It is also serviced by the modern streetcar. You will find several stops and train stations along this popular stretch.
The avenue is also well known for it’s many and varied events which include the 4th Avenue Street Fair in the Spring and in the Winter. The area also plays host to car shows, food events, The Mermaid Parade and much more.
It’s such a fun place to walk on a cool day stopping along the way to check out an art gallery, visit a pub, go to the arcade, visit the Food Co-Op or enjoy sitting out on the patio available in many of the local establishments.
4th Avenue: Tugo Bike Share
The city has added a new means of transportation, the Tugo Bike Share. Pick-up a bike at one of the 36 stations. Head out to as many places you want while your pass is active. Return the bike back to a designated station and that’s it.
Pro tip: Learn how to use Tugo Bike Share here.
4th Avenue: The Hippy Gypsy
If you are feeling groovy, you can stop by the Hippy Gypsy, one of the staples on 4th, to pick up some incense or replace your favorite black light poster. You can then head over to one of the local hookah lounges to relax with friends.
There is a little bit to do for everyone when you spend the day out on the avenue. So get out there check it out and see for yourself.
Have a great day,
TonyRay 🙂
