It’s not often that the world’s best golfers come to play in your city, that is, unless you live in Tucson!

Every February golf stars like Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Rory McIlroy compete in the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship. It takes place at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club at Dove Mountain in Marana, just northwest of Tucson.

The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club is a Jack Nicklaus signature 27-hole golf course that opened in 2009. It serves as a beautiful setting to watch the pros compete up close. Before this course opened, the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship took place at The Gallery Golf Club.

Ticket packages are available on their website, and kids under 18 are free with a paying adult! Being a spectator at the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship is a wonderful way to enjoy the beautiful Tucson spring weather. It doesn’t hurt that you can rub elbows with the stars! Be sure to wear plenty of sunscreen and drink lots of water while you are out watching. You may even be on TV, as this tournament is covered by many local and national stations!

Participating in the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship is also one of the many charitable things to do in Tucson. Proceeds from this golf tournament go to many local charities. These charities include the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Arizona, the First Tee of Tucson Youth Golf and Life Skills Program, and the Pima County Special Olympics.
