Fun Things to Do for the Holidays in Downtown Tucson

Okay, we’re back! We’re on Facebook.com/SeeTucsonRealEstate! Happy Holidays in Downtown Tucson! Good morning and guess who’s here today, it’s Darren Jones! I don’t think you’ve been with us for like three weeks, it’s good to have you back 🙂

We got some really fun stuff to show you; there’s a ton of really cool holiday stuff going on in downtown Tucson and we want to talk to you about all the fun stuff. If you’ve got kids, this is gonna be the place to be over the next few weeks.

We’ve also got some amazing homes coming up really fun stuff, i’m bouncing off the walls like this because I really want to show you these homes but i have no photographs and I can’t show you anything, but they’re coming so I’m gonna give you a sneak… not a preview but it’ll be verbal like a story that you buy and you listen to the book.

We’re gonna show you some cool stuff; we’re gonna take a walk down there, Santa is already down there, I can see him and as we’re walking i’m going to give you kind of an overview of the cool buildings that you’re seeing in downtown.

OK, lets go see Tucson!

Got All Your Marbles
Got All Your Marbles

On the right here, you’re gonna see Got All Your Marbles, which is really nice, the lady here is Lisa and they’ve got a patented jewelry store here and it has these little marbles that snap in and you can get all these different colors that snap into these really pretty necklaces and earrings and stuff like that.

Let’s walk forward, the next stop is a the olive oil store, right Darren? Tucson Olive Central!

Oh, by the way, downtown is going to be doing a Christmas Window Contest, so when you come down here for the holidays, there’s gonna be some fun stuff going on. I’m assuming they’re getting ready to decorate all this.

This is the new Screamery Ice Cream Store, i have not had any of the ice cream yet and their not open so we cant ask for samples 🙂

Right here you can get a haircut at, make yourself good-looking before you go out strutting this little strip here 🙂

Elviras Restaurant Tucson

This is Elvira’s, which we have had dinner here and i have to tell, James, if you peek in that window right here, maybe you can get a glimpse up there. There is a thousand pieces of blown glass in the ceiling and you see up there. It wraps around the entire restaurant, it’s backlit and it changes colors!

Continuing on our tour, I think this is going to be the new tea shop, and if it is the new tea shop space, a friend of ours named Shane Barella has a tea shop called “The Scented Leaf” down at the University which is very popular and they have amazing tea and it’s organic and it’s beautiful and it’s loose leaf, and they have sleepytime tea that knocked me out in 20 minutes; there’s nothing else in it but tea! I think Shane’s gonna be opening up his store here and I think it’s this address, so we are super excited that Shane is coming to open a second location.

Go to Shane’s website right now and he’s doing a big Christmas bonus, I think he’s still doing it this weekend you might want to check but he’s giving away a lot of cool stuff for gifts and stuff to help fund the store.

Here, we’re in front of The Hub! We love the Hub, we know everybody in here, these are great people and we love their food here. It’s a great place to eat outside, they have really good bartenders, so it’s a nice stop; this is your midday and late-night go-to!

Miracle On Congress Street

What we have is Miracle on Congress Street going on and Santa Claus is actually here today from 10am to 8pm, it looks like, and tomorrow from 10am to 4pm, and you can see how beautiful this is! Everything inside is Christmas, so let’s walk over! I hear Christmas music! It’s a Christmas wonderland in here!

Wow, and you’re gonna have coloring?

We’re gonna have coloring and then the Children’s Museum will be here from 2:30 – 4:30 for some arts and crafts and then afterwards we will be decorating some cookies! This is so exciting, if I was a little kid I’d want to be here so bad! oh my gosh, look at how fun this is, so you’re open from ten to six today? 10 to 8pm, actually 🙂 From 10 to 8pm today, bring the kids down! And you’ve got Santa Claus coming and hanging out, this is just part of the great fun that’s going on!

Christmas with Mrs. Clause at the Carriage House

Lets talk about what’s going on really quick then, this is open on every weekend until Christmas Eve, Santa’s here and I heard that Mrs. Claus is actually going to be at the Carriage House on December 17th. She’s gonna be there and she’s going to read stories and stuff and she’s got cookies; bring your cameras!

For the Carriage House, you can go online where you can register there. The kids will learn to bake cookies and do Christmas things and then Mrs. Claus will be reading and helping, it’ll be a lot of fun!

The same night that you’re going to visit Mrs. Claus, you have their Downtown Parade of Lights going on and that’s really beautiful, it’s going to start on 17th St. heading down Stone and it will go to Ochoa, and then it does a little kick back over to 13th Street. You can get the route on the Downtown Partnerships website. Remember, anything i’m telling you about or he tells you about or Santa tells you about, you can go to SeeTucsonHomes.com or give me a note at the bottom of this Facebook page and we will link you to all of this stuff!

Also today, at Reid Park, is a Christmas Craft Show, so check that out!

Christmas at the Stillwell House

The Stillwell House has something going on with cookies, crafts, photo booth, and a two-hour interaction with Santa that’s on December 10 and and that’s from 10 to noon. Also, don’t forget December 10 is Second Saturday and it will be crazy down here because you’ll have all the Santa stuff going on, you have all of the different events, you got Foxx Theatre, the Rialto… you’ll want to check all of these guys websites because they all have stuff going on for the holidays.

  4. Santa Claus at Stillwell House
  5. Foxx Theatre has Holiday shows going on at FoxxTucson.com, check them out!

Johnny Gibson’s Downtown Market is doing something as well, it’s for Casa de Los Ninos, super important! This is on December 4th from 9am to 12 and it’s called the Toy Drive and Biker Event to benefit Casa de Los Ninos from 9am to 12.

Let’s talk about a couple things coming up: Tu Nidito is one another one of the beautiful local charities that we have that does amazing things. These are for kids that are grieving the loss of someone and they have a beautiful thing called Camp Erin and they take the kids to camp and these are kids from ages 6 – 17 who’ve lost someone to death.

They have grief counseling there and they get to do lots of activities, so I want to talk about TuNidito.org because right now there’s a state tax where if you donate $400.00, we did it last year with schools; Tu Nidito is one of those places where if you give them four hundred dollars, it actually comes right back to you on your state taxes dollar-for-dollar. It’s the perfect way to give money to this great organization, it’s a beautiful place.  Shout-out to Liz!
